I want to believe that my vehicle is in great condition since I don’t abuse it and use it mainly for my work commute and errands on weekends. However, considering it’s at 75,000 miles I’m sure there are items that need maintenance at this stage. Yesterday, I took the vehicle for service at TTB and after arriving and being told there was an extensive wait for service (at least an hour to get the vehicle into a bay). Being Saturday and having errands to run, I inquired about a loaner vehicle and to my surprise was told there was a charge for this (unlike Toyota of Brandon). I declined as this was unexpected. Another update, February 3, 2024. Tailgate malfunction. For about a month now, the tailgate on my 2023 Highlander will not close when I press the button on the tailgate or when I use the button on the remote control. It only responds to the front panel button when I press it and hold it until the tailgate closes completely (if I stop pressing it before it stops its closing motion and returns to its previous position). On this occasion, I had the assistance of advisor Bryan Roberts. His attention to the matter was excellent and beyond because in addition to calibrating the tailgate to zero, they performed the multipoint inspection (MPI) and performed a carwash of the vehicle as a courtesy.
